A thought...
Every one, or at least everyone who doesn't live in a big city needs a car right? Well some people can't afford one for whatever reason. I used to be one of these people and it really crippled us. I was thinking the other day about this: Why not have a NPO car dealership? Like lots of higher tax bracket people buy new cars every year, and what do they do with the old ones? They trade them in, or sell them or whatever they do with them. Well, they could donate them and essentially get the same amount they got for the trade in value back with their tax return or at least use it as a tax break. The place could then sell the car to a needy family for a small price, like part of the blue book value, or maybe the blue book value as this could cause a problem later with people just buying and selling the cars. Now, it could work like a normal buy here pay here place but instead of 'credit' reffrences they'd need 9 refrences, 3 peers, 3 work related, and 3 family members. They'd also need to put down 5% and work out a payment plan or whatever...interest free of course. I suppose this is one of those ideal things that would never work and I haven't really hammered out all of the details but I do know that it would have to run as a by need thing and would ONLY deal with people who have had STEADY jobs for at least 6 months, because I wouldn't want to help people who don't help themselves and they can not already own a car...this means there'd have to be a way to figure that out. I don't know maybe its like a utopiaand that is why it hasn't been done, I just would rather think that it hasn't been done because of greed but it's probably a mixture of the both.
Happy Birthday Murphy
Ok so this should have been put up on the 12 of this month, but I have been really too busy to look for the USB cord.
Murphy celelbrated his second birthday with little enthousiasm...which was expected as he never really knows what's really going on...so we took him to wallyworld when daddy got home from work and let him pick out his own gifts-and of course he chose a bunch of cars. His FAVORITE thing in the world is anything with wheels...lol he's such a boy.
Here are some pics:
The Cake

(mom will like that one, haha Brian never noticed!)
Dinner, the ever loved Pizza!

This was a shot of him getting his cake, but I wasn't able to get a good picture of him actually eating it...it was this or "No pictures please"

Suppose I should have gotten some shots of him choosing the gifts, but I didnt think about it at the time....
The gifts:

Next stop, My birthday...grrr...we'll skip that...lol then its off to Brian's. He's really excited about his 5th, good lord the kid lives for birthdays.

Bills Bills Bills
At the begining of the year, Brian's hours were cut at Eagle...this was just before they tried to lower his pay to drive him out-I suppose it worked because he quit and the following day found a job working for Schick, an industrial construction company as a surveyer out at SteelCorp. This cut in hours, however, is still effecting us. We have been scrambliling to get back on top of our bills and now if it isn't one thing its another. I recently got the truck refied, and a loan we have...so that's all taken care of. The cable was shut off for a while and I figured it could wait until we had the money for it which was yesterday or so I thought. Last night I noticed our phones were turned off which really pisses me off because I paid 100 tward that on Wendsday, and come to find out we owe an additional 100 on back bills and for some reason this month's bill is 300 and someodd dollars! That is just ridiculas! I'm over this phone company. I never had any real issues with Cingular but since AT&T took over they are charging us for things that Cingular never charged us for and we have to pay per sent and recieved text where as before we didn't...it is really upsetting because I can't just cancel because we have a contract. I think once that expires I will be searching for a new phone company. May even go with one home phone and one cell phone or something, I just can't stand this any more. I'm constantly feeling overwhelmed. If it's not the phone bill it's the electric company, which reminds me i need to do some research on that...they cut the electricity the other day for $33 dollars! What was that crap about? We paid the bill but didn't know about that $33 extra, because they rarely send us out a bill and we normally just get a late notice..which pisses me off and they should refund all those 'late' charges we inccur because of their idiocicy. Then the day after I recieve the late notice "Bubba" comes out threatening me. I'm pretty sure a few years ago I learned on 20/20 that when the temps get above 90 or below 32 they can not turn off your power unless you are a certian amount past due...this could be just certian areas but I will be doing some research on it so I can slap it in these people's faces and let them know they aren't dealin with one of them. I'm not some ignoran woman who just accepts things as they are. I've spoken with other people about the electric company for this county and we aren't the only people having problems with them, although we are the only ones getting monthly visits from "Bubba". Which means he is harassing me for some reason. I suppose he thinks because he is 10 of me I feel threatened by him, but sorry dude large in size and small in brain ain't going to scare this little woman!
